Read moreMasroor has over 20 years’ experience in transportation and more than 18 years’ experience in consulting. He has been working in the field of transportation throughout his professional life – first as a faculty, then as a graduate research assistant and, finally, as a consultant.
Masroor currently directs Steer’s ongoing on-call contract with Amtrak providing ridership and revenue forecasting and market research support for the whole Amtrak system. He was a co-author of Steer’s well-regarded guidance on best practices in high-speed and intercity passenger rail ridership forecasting and public benefits assessment, prepared for the USDOT Office of Inspector General. More recently, Masroor also led the development and update of the CONNECT tool for the FRA - a sketch-planning tool for intercity passenger rail forecasting anywhere in the US. He has directed, managed and played key roles in many HSIPR demand forecasting studies in most of the US corridors.
