Steer Davies Gleave (SDG) has been commissioned to carry out an evaluation of Regulation 881/2004 (now amended by Regulation 1335/2008) which set up the European Railway Agency (ERA). The Agency coordinates groups of technical experts with the aim of helping to create an integrated railway area in Europe by reinforcing safety and interoperability.
SDG’s study involves carrying out an evaluation of the implementation of the Regulation, the results achieved by the ERA and its working methods. Since a fundamental part of this analysis will be understanding the views of stakeholders, we have set up an online survey that has been made available to the Agency’s stakeholders.
In particular, the study will report on the impact of the regulation and the effectiveness of the ERA, as well as propose potential recommendations going forward.
