Dundee City Council has recently launched their interactive 'Travel Active' website to encourage the general public to become more active.
This innovative website allows visitors to sign up to become Travel Active members, where they can keep a travel diary and set themselves active challenges. By recording the daily cycle and walking activities of each person, users can follow their progress graphically, set challenges for themselves and also invite their friends to join in through a Facebook-style interface.
In addition, Dundee City Council can also view recorded data which provides an overview of behavioural change in this area.
Steer Davies Gleave worked closely with Dundee City Council to develop the concept, design the website and develop the software application.
Due to the success of this project, other councils have also showed an interest to take part in this ‘Travel Active’ brand.
