Information design projects shortlisted for award

Two Steer Davies Gleave projects – Dundee Travel Info website and the Marconi Express Branding and Wayfinding project – have been shortlisted for an International Institute for Information Design (IIID) Award.

The new Dundee Travel Info website was launched in 2010 on behalf of Dundee City Council and includes an improved multi-modal journey planner, a mobile app, a customisable homepage and personalised information, allowing users to quickly access information for frequently used bus stops, rail stations and address data. The new site has attracted many new and repeat visitors, and on one day of particularly poor weather the website received 7,000 visitors.

The ‘Marconi Express’ is a high-frequency shuttle service connecting Bologna Central rail station with Bologna Marconi Airport. Steer Davies Gleave developed a branding and a wayfinding system for the service based exclusively on pictograms, with particular care put into creating a clear and logical structure for the information making navigation to/from and within the station simple and intuitive.
